Dr. Karlyn Koh

"In addition to serving as Alpha Theta Phi's Contact Advisor (since 2006), Dr. Karlyn Koh is a Professor of English and LaGuardia's Honors Program Director. She is an active scholar with numerous publications on postcolonial studies, Asian American studies, and poetics, and has held several national fellowships. She is also a recipient of Phi Theta Kappa's 2008 International Paragon Advisor Award, and the New York Regional Phi Theta Kappa 2007 Horizon Award for Advisors. Ms. Diane Darcy

My name is Diane Darcy and I have been an advisor for the Alpha Theta Phi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa since October 1, 2002. My involvement with Phi Theta Kappa was prompted by a chance meeting with the former contact advisor, Dr. Reza Fakhari, where I mentioned I was an alumnus of the honor society he was affiliated with. Without skipping a beat, he asked if I would serve on the advisory committee and shortly after I was unanimously voted to serve as an advisor by the officers of the 2002 Executive Board.

Besides the demands of my full-time position on campus as Executive Director of Human Resources, I continue to embrace the society’s mission and value the work that is performed by the officers and members of the Alpha Theta Phi Chapter. My journey, as advisor, has been and continues to be a wonderful, fulfilling experience filled with challenges and rewards alike. I am honored to serve in such a prestigious honor society as Phi Theta Kappa and hope to continue to do so for many years to come. Top
