Membership Eligibility:

Minimum GPA 3.5

12 completed credits

$55.00 lifetime membership fee (one-time payment)

Why do I need to pay a fee?

The $55 fee is a membership fee established by International Headquarters. It will help the organization fund for activities at various levels.

What if my grades drop below a 3.5 after I've joined?

After you've joined, you only need to maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.25. If your grade drops down below a 3.25, your membership will be temporarily "frozen" until your grades are back up.

What do I need to do after I've joined?

You don't "need" to do anything unless you want to. However, we encourage you to come to our meetings and to get involved with the activities.

Who do I contact if I just have questions?

Feel free to contact any of our officers or advisers.

I got a letter saying I'm qualified for the Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa. What's the difference between the two? Which one should I pick?

Both the Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa are great opportunities for motivated students to gain more skills and experience. The Honors Program is a unique program established by LaGuardia Community College. Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of the Two-Year Colleges. You don't have to pick one over the other. Many of our members are also scholars of the Honors Program.
