This past weekend, 6 PTK officers --Jenny Badiilo, Fannie Sanchez, Jaida Triblet, Kaire Colwell, Emmanuel Deegbe, and Luis Lei-- headed up to Albany for the annual boot-camp Mock Chapter. (What is Mock Chapter?)
Over 24 hours, participants from across NY state were split up in mock chapters, held elections, planned out an entire year's worth of projects and decided on how best to develop as a chapter. Each mock chapter then wrote up essays discussing strategies for successfully implementing their vision. Here are some highlights:
Jaida was elected chapter president, and led her mock chapter to win the Scholarship Hallmark Award.
Jenny Badillo was elected president of her mock chapter, and she led her team to win the Leadership Hallmark Award, and the Best Chapter Minutes Award.
Fannie was chosen the Most Distinguished Chapter Member.
Emmanuel won the Best Press Release and Service Hallmark for his mock chapter.
Luis's work led his team to win the best honor study description.
