My name is Meherunnisa  Jobaida. but everyone calls me Mary. I was born in Patuakhali , Bangladesh . I finished my elementary and high schooling in a rural village in Bangladesh . I have been living in New York since 2003. I am married and a mother of a four-year old daughter.

This is my third semester at LaGuardia Community College . I love this community.  I am interested in people and in working to achieve peace in this world. I am majoring in Liberal Arts with a Media Studies option. I want to become a film director.  I believe in perseverance. I am strongly positive about achieving my goal.

Besides education, I am also involved in the college and the CUNY community. I am the vice president of the student body at LaGuardia Community College and a senator of the University Student Senate of CUNY. I have joined the API program this semester and I tutor statistics. I enjoy tutoring.

Some of my favorites are: The poet- W. Wordsworth, The song- “You are never alone,” Personality- my daughter and a quote of Francis Bacon - “ Reading make a full man, conference a ready man, and writing an exact man.” I wish you all a wonderful semester.
