My name is Sumona Chowdhury. I am from Bangladesh. I came to America in 1997 with my husband. We were both admitted to LaGuardia Community College in Fall 2002. We both are full time students and part time workers. My major is Accounting and I have finished 67 credits. Hopefully I will graduate after the Fall II session, 2003. When I started taking my classes during my first semester, it was so hard for me to understand the class lectures because English is my second language. But my ESL professor Mrs. Aziz was so helpful and she encouraged the whole class including myself to improve our English speaking and writing. My other professors were also so helpful and nice. I have tried my best to keep my GPA high and also want to learn from everyone. At LaGuardia I have met with many different people, which is really a very worthwhile experience for me. I have enjoyed this diversity. I can learn about different cultures and traditions.
